Vision

Habakkuk 2:2 Write the vision and make it clear on tablets, the he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak and it will not lie. Tough it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Prov 29:18 says "Where there is no vision, the people perish."

Vision is simply Gods heart, as well as revelation of who He is. What has God revealed to you about His heart and what has He given your heart a burden for? There are people at your work, in your community and in your family that only you know. There are people that others see though, that you look at and see opportunity. You have a unique relationship with the Lord and He has placed you in a unique place in life to use you. In 1 Samuel 2:35 God says, "I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest to do what is according to My heart, and in My mind. I will build for Him a sure house, and he shall walk before My anointed forever." God has fashioned you and revealed things to you for the purpose of fulfilling that vision He has given you. When God gives you a vision, write it down and make it clear for others to catch onto. For example: You notice that there are traffic jams every morning on your way to work. We know Gods heart from 1 Pet 3:9 that he wants to reach those people. God leads you to start a radio station broadcast to give them the word. Other people hear what you are doing and join you in your ministry. God uses it to reach hundreds of people every day as they commute to work. Ask God to reveal His heart and give you a clear vision. When you pray, have a pen ready with you to write down what He tells you. Prayerfully read His word and underline passages that resonate with your heart as something God has called you to do. Ask God to open your eyes to see the opportunities He has for you to walk in every day. In Isaiah chapter 6, Isaiah has a vision of the Lords throne room, with angels flying above crying out in worship to the Lord, "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts; the whole Earth is filled with His glory!" Isaiah's response is, "Woe is me, for I am undone, because I am a man of unclean lips and I live among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts." He spent the past few chapters pointing the finger at everyone else, saying woe is you for this, and woe is you for that! When he has a vision of who God really is, "sitting on the throng, high and lifted up," he says, "Wow… Woe is me…". It is easy for us to be critical and point out the faults of those around us. I know I am guilty of hearing scripture and applying it to others around me. "Oh my friend really needs to hear this one, he shouldn't be living such a sinful life!" When in reality, I need to pray for God to change my heart. You may think you have everything under control and have life figured out. But when we truly see a vision of the Lord, we see the reality of our fragile, broken state, and our response is humility, praise, and a willingness to go wherever God desires.
